Ehkä sillä on syynsä että jouhikankaat ovat aina niin kapeita. Rajansa sillä jouhenkin pituudella. :)
Upset and sad
Those of you who know me know I'm direct, absurdly concerned and interested in people, sometimes against my better judgement, and often a bit nitpicky about details. Some of you love me for those traits... Some hate me for those things, I think.
Today I am still up at almost 4:30 o'clock at night, almost regretting saying that not all punched eyelet holes are ugly and weak and that a skilled person deserves a skilled person's salary. I do not get it at all. I try to embrace Let It Be but as always, I want to understand what happened... Futile. Sad. Upset.
Especially this time as my every attempt of assuming miscommunication instead of malice was seen as malice.
I was invited to oogle at the Oscar gala with some rather nice people. I didn't go because I was going to have a busy day tomorrow and was going to need the sleep. Didn't go, didn't get the sleep. I dread tomorrow.

Mielenkiintoinen hoito migreeniin
Tänään oli migreeni, mutta jotakin hyvää tuli siitäkin. Löysin mielenkiintoisen tutkimuksen migreeniin mahdollisesti auttavasta hoidosta. En ole vielä lukenut sitä läpi, mutta jännältä näyttää.

Vaarallisempi maailma?
Onko maailma niin paljon vaarallisempi kuin ennen? Nykyisin lapsia opastetaan olemaan ikinä avaamatta ovea tuntemattomalle aikuiselle, jos ovat yksin kotona. En minä vaan muista lapsena, enkä nyt aikuisenakaan, kuulleeni yhdestäkään tapauksesta jossa olisi lapselle käynyt pahasti (tullut kaapatuksi, pahoinpidellyksi tai asunto ryöstetyksi) hänen avattuaan oven aikuiselle. Onko nyt tilanne oikeasti eri, ja maailma paljon vaarallisempi, vai ovatko ihmiset vain epäluuloisempia? Oviketjua toki osattiin käyttää ennenkin.

Let it be
"Let it be" sounds often a bit annoying, but when it has been explained properly, it certainly does make a lot of sense. I wish I will learn to live by those words well.

I got tired of the icons take so much space in Gnome and decided to not have the icon descriptions below the icons. However, the tooltips are only shown for the icons that are not greyed out. I don't want to be left wondering what the button does, even if I cannot use it right now. Show me what I'm missing!

Kangashyllyni syö valkoista silkkitaftia
Jo toisen kerran ostamani puolen metrin pala valkoista silkkitaftia on kadonnut kangashyllistä teille tietymättömille. Ehkä kangashyllyni syö silkkitaftia... Kallis ruokavalio sillä.
Miten sitten minä olen ilman?
Taas tuli se välillä toistuva tunne että jos päällipuolin pirteät, tasapainoiset ja hyväluonteiset ihmiset käyttävät/ovat käyttäneet masennuslääkkeitä, miten sitten minä olen aina ollut ilman? Onko se vain typerää riskinottoa minulta vai onko jokin syy miksen niitä tarvitsisi? Tunnistaako ihminen itse tarvitseeko lääkkeitä ja terapiaa vai näkeekö sen parhaiten ulkopuolinen asiantuntija?
(Ei, en nyt koe olevani mitenkään masentunut, mutta en olisi suuresta osasta muistakaan arvannut heidän olevan. Ehkä ihmiset osaavat vain paljon minua paremmin näyttää siltä että kaikki on hyvin.)

L'Oreal on enemmän kuin luulinkaan
Turhamaisuuksissani kokeilin L'Orealin uutta True Match meikkivoidetta eilen (myyjä olisi suositellut N1:tä, kädenselällä C1 näytti paremmalta, mutta olen aina kuvitellut olevani enemmän kellerväihoinen). Tänään uteliaisuuttani katsellessani L'Orealin nettisivuja huomasin että merkkejä tallissa on muitakin kuin L'Oreal: Biotherm, Maybelline, Helena Rubinstein, Lancome, Vichy, Shu Uemura ja noin tusina muuta. Pitää jatkossa katsoa kilpailevatko Maybelline ja L'Oreal meikkimainokset keskenään vai tietääkö oikea käsi mitä vasen tekee.

Lapsen aggressio
Mikä saa 10-vuotiaan (arvio, allekirjoittanut ei ole hyvä arvioimaan ikiä) pojan uhkailemaan tuntematonta ikätoveriaan ilman mitään provosointia ja sitten säntäämään tämän kimppuun nyrkki pystyssä? Ja miksi aikuinen mies käänsi vaan päänsä pois kun uhkailtu poika pyysi apua?
Teoreettisempi kysymys: Jos selvästi alle rikosoikeudellisen vastuun ikärajaa oleva lapsi käy huonokuntoisen aikuisen kuntoon, ja jälkimmäinen yrittää puolustautua, onko kyseessä lain silmissä pahoinpitely ja jos, kumman puolelta?

Kirkkaat ledit kelloradioissa
Miksi ihmeessä kelloradioissa, joita pidetään etenkin juuri yöpöydillä, on usein niin kovin kirkkaat ledit? Etenkin sarastusvalossa tämä on hassua. Soleil SunAlarm on muuten ihan kiva, muutamaa käyttöliittymäkämmiä lukuunottamatta, mutta sen vihreät ledit ovat niin kirkkaita että peitän kellonajan voidepullolla yöksi.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I need the corset for 4 weeks time. My original supplier has gone out of business and is unable to deliver, hence the late notice. If you feel that you may be able to do this please let me know how much extra it would cost to 'rush' the process. My address for swatches to be sent to is:
