Hiding binary

Lately I have been on and off thinking about hiding binary code into decorative motifs that can be used e.g. in jewellery. I think this thinking is fuelled by my ring envy - I too want a date hidden in my ring. The problem is the motif either needs to be small or very simple to allow more than couple of zeros and ones to be fitted in a design as small as a ring in a way that a human can still easily read, and I'm rather fond of vines and florals myself.
